Rockbridge Area Transportation Services (RATS) would like to conduct a client satisfaction study to find out whether the organization is meeting client needs; if there are ways that they could be servicing their clients better; and the extent to which their clients depend on the services the organization provides.
|Agency Name||RATS (Rockbridge Area Transportation System)|
|Mission||For over 15 years, RATS has provided transportation for Rockbridge County residents. The service began in 1995 as a vision of its founder, Joan Manley, who felt there was a need for a public transportation service in the area. Since then, the service has grown to meet the clear and increasing need for specialized transport. RATS is now a 501(C)(3) private non-profit corporation with 15 vehicles, 17 employees, an office, and a local volunteer board of directors. RATS transports passengers to medical and therapeutic appointments, to drugstores, workplaces, shopping, and to social activities. Rides are also available to regional medical centers in Roanoke, Charlottesville, and other locations. RATS provides on demand, door-to-door service by trained and certified drivers, using safe, reliable vehicles. Fares are very reasonable and the service provides an inexpensive alternative to costly taxi companies.|
